Simryn Gill at Tracy Williams Ltd.




Stones gathered from an urban beach in Port Dickson, Malaysia rest alongside prints created from a huge variety of German potatoes in Australian artist Simryn Gill’s latest solo show at Tracy Williams, Ltd.  Both projects suggest nature’s overlooked abundance.  (On the Lower East Side through Jan 10th).

Morgane Tschiember at Tracy Williams, Ltd.

Paris-based Morgane Tschiember uses Tracy Wiliams’ new Lower East Side space to great effect with this handsome installation of compromised, suspended vessels set off by the huge wall painting ‘Falls.’ (Through Nov 1st).

Richard Dupont at Tracy Williams Ltd.

New York artist Richard Dupont inaugurates Tracy Williams Ltd‘s new Lower East Side location with sculptures and drawings of distorted bodies that recall both digital effects and fun-house mirrors. (Through July 29th).

Jennifer Nocon at Tracy Williams Ltd

Nature inspires LA-based artist Jennifer Nocon’s gorgeous ceramic and felt installation Sky Diamond, the centerpiece of her solo show at Chelsea’s Tracy Williams, Ltd. Stylized cloud illustrations on ceramic cloud shapes give forth blood-red, kelp-like jets of rain, making for a fascinating and slightly disturbing phenomenon. (Through Feb 14th).

Kate Newby in ‘On the Blue Shore of Silence’ at Tracy Williams, Ltd.

Once called ‘radically slight’ by an admiring critic, New Zealand artist Kate Newby’s work looks deceptively simple. Here, she presents a selection of skipping stones crafted of porcelain, which she’s been known to present to friends with the request that they launch them across the water. (At Tracy Williams, Ltd. in Chelsea through Sept 3rd).
