Tara Donovan in ‘Grounded’ at Pace Gallery

Tara Donovan’s ‘Colony’ is a standout in Pace Gallery’s group exhibition, ‘Grounded,’ which gives the floor to artwork created to be displayed on the ground.  Donovan’s signature premise – an accumulation of ordinary small things makes an excellent big thing – is now art-making orthodoxy, but no one does it quite like Donovan.  (At Pace Gallery’s 534 West 25th Street location through Feb 22nd.)

Greg Haberny at Lyons Wier Gallery

Considering the profuse detail of the 2-D collages, floor covering and pencil-studded ceiling of his installation at Chelsea’s Lyons Wier Gallery, it comes as no surprise that Greg Haberny was diagnosed with ADHD as a child.  The frustration of a childhood defined by medicines and misdiagnoses comes through loud and clear.  (Through October 5th).
