You don’t have to physically be in the galleries to engage with New York’s vibrant art scene. Join Merrily Kerr on a remote tour of the most important exhibitions of the season to view and discuss images of contemporary artwork in a variety of media. Connect with today’s creative thinkers no matter where you are.

On our one hour virtual tour, we’ll see images and video of several talked-about artists' shows in New York City. Merrily will fill in background on each artist’s career while discussing what’s new and important in the current work.

One hour private remote tours for one to ten people are $140.

Engage with contemporary art in a small group setting, sharing thoughts on the rich variety of art we’ll see. Scheduled open tours are a great way to connect with a small group of others who share your interest in contemporary art.

Remote tours are $20 per person. Tours last for one hour, and are currently limited to ten participants, each using a web browser or Zoom. Chat with Merrily and others on the tour via audio, video, or text - however you choose. For the best experience, use your webcam.

How do I join the remote tour once I’ve purchased a ticket?
Once you purchase your ticket or book your private tour, you’ll receive an email with links and a password to join the tour.
Do I need special software to join the tour?
No, you can just use your Chrome browser, but for the best experience, choose the Zoom software option. (also required if you don’t have Google Chrome). Merrily will provide links prior to the tour for both options.
What is Zoom? What if I haven’t used it before?
Zoom is a free video conferencing app which is simple to use and provides very high quality video communication between multiple people. Allow yourself ten minutes before the tour start time to download and install from the links Merrily will provide. It is a quick, easy process and will give you the best quality and more options to join in and interact with everyone else on the remote tour. You'll be able to choose whether other tour participants can hear and see you, and vice-versa. Zoom has many excellent video tutorials.
How can I make sure I get the best images and the best experience?
Consider participating in the tour on a larger screen for better viewing. A laptop/desktop is better than a phone to view the full detail of the artwork. Pick a location with a consistent high-speed internet connection. An average household internet connection is fine. (at least 1.5Mbps).
How do I make sure I can hear the sound clearly?
Connect your headphones/headset to your device for the best audio quality for you and for the others on the tour. This will prevent any background noise from interfering with your experience. You can mute your mic if you need to screen background noise.
Can I record the tour?
Due to privacy and copyright laws, recording is not permitted unless special arrangements are made prior to the tour.
Can my children join?
Under 18 year olds are welcome to join the tour, however, they must share a device with an adult. Under 18 year olds are not permitted to join a tour unless an adult is present with them throughout the tour.
Can you take larger groups?
The interactivity of the tour is an important aspect, and I suggest keeping groups to a maximum of 10 people to ensure the best experience. Larger groups can be accommodated via webinar format. Contact Merrily to discuss options for larger groups.
