Merrily Kerr is an art critic and writer living in New York. After earning a BA and MA in Art History at universities in the UK, she began her writing career at the Leeds Guide, acting as both Deputy Editor and Art Editor of this listing and review magazine. While living in England, she contributed to other magazines including Flux Magazine and AN. Her writing won a prize in 'Artranscriptions', a national writing contest organized by the Henry Moore Institute and the Tate Liverpool.
In 1999, Kerr relocated to New York. She writes regularly for Time Out New York, Art on Paper, Flash Art, Art Asia Pacific and other art magazines and has recently contributed essays to publications produced by Leo Koenig, Inc. and Kravets/Wehby Gallery.
Merrily Kerr is also licensed as a tour guide by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.
