Amid vibrantly colored d\u00e9cor from an earlier time period, two sisters hold children who have disappeared in Titus Kaphar<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Not My Burden\u2019 at Gagosian Gallery<\/a>\u2019s 21st<\/sup> Street space in Chelsea. \u00a0A much-anticipated follow-up to select paintings shown online<\/a> when TIME commissioned a cover from Kaphar after George Floyd\u2019s murder, the exhibition features work in which children have literally been cut out of the canvas, representing the anxiety and fear experienced by Black mothers.
