After presenting paintings of lone figures at Pace Gallery<\/a>\u2019s new 25th<\/sup> Street headquarters in February of this year (a highlight of which is pictured here), British painter Nigel Cooke<\/a> is back at pacegallery.com<\/a> with new characters made while working in isolation.\u00a0 Working at night has created an even more solitary environment for the artist from which he\u2019s tried to capture how \u2018perceptions are always changing when things are uncertain.\u2019 \u00a0Collectively titled \u2018Midnights,\u2019 each new work carries titles like \u2018Shore,\u2019 \u2018Waiting\u2019 or \u2018Islands,\u2019 that speak to the idea of a figure looking out to sea.
