A host of fractured figures, relatives to the artist\u2019s signature box-headed, grimacing characters, greet visitors to Rashid Johnson\u2019s latest show at Chelsea\u2019s Hauser & Wirth Gallery<\/a>.\u00a0 Described by their past titles as \u2018anxious men,\u2019 Johnson\u2019s new people bear titles relating to their brokenness, as if the damage to their psyche\u2019s or bodies has become more profound.\u00a0 The show climaxes in Johnson\u2019s new film \u2018The Hikers,\u2019 in which two men meet while ascending or descending a mountain in Colorado, enacting a dance that expresses their anxiety and extends the theme into the three-dimensional world.\u00a0 (On view through Jan 25th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n
