Humor, irony and abjection abound in Greene Naftali Gallery<\/a>\u2019s summer group show \u2018Painting Now and Forever, part III,\u2019 a collaboration with Matthew Marks Gallery<\/a>, but none of these qualities are found in British artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye\u2019s fictional portrait titled \u2018Jubilee.\u2019\u00a0 Instead, Yiadom-Boakye\u2019s elevated characters \u2013 backlit in this case by a golden glow \u2013 are quietly exalted, seemingly above everyday life and happy in their own company and thoughts. \u00a0(On view in Chelsea through August 17th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n
