Mexican-born, New York-based assistant art professor Aliza Nisenbaum\u2019s focus on U.S. immigrants inspired James Cohan Gallery<\/a>\u2019s excellent summer group show \u2018Intimisms,\u2019 which features close portraits of artists\u2019 friends and family. Here, her painting of the Women\u2019s Cabinet of the Mayor\u2019s Office of Immigrant Affairs is more public yet portrays the individuality of each community leader.
