Barbara Kasten<\/a>\u2019s photographs challenge viewers to understand the interrelation of forms in colorful, geometric assemblages that she shoots at close range, while French conceptual artist Daniel Buren<\/a> often deploys his signature stripe pattern in real space to make viewers aware of their environment in new ways.\u00a0 Together, their combined show of work at 55 Walker<\/a> of photos from the \u201880s (Kasten) and aluminum and mirror constructions from 2019 – 2022 (Buren) present artworks that initially seem spatially straightforward yet ultimately entice visitors to linger over the complexity of a constructed image or interaction with the real space of the gallery.
