Lively, colorful, and modern in their geometry, the quilts in Nicelle Beauchene Gallery<\/a>\u2019s group show of textiles from Gee\u2019s Bend quilters<\/a> are a standout in the Tribeca galleries.\u00a0 \u2018My Way: Gee’s Bend Today\u2019 is the third in a three-part series at the gallery featuring work by the legendary makers of Gee\u2019s Bend, a Black community in Boykin, Alabama.\u00a0 The present exhibition showcases work by 14 artists creating \u2018My Way\u2019 quilts, pieces that favor free expression over strict adherence to a pattern.\u00a0 (On view through Jan 4th.\u00a0 Note that gallery hours change during the holiday period).<\/p>\n
