Mika Tajima<\/a>\u2019s winter \u201924 solo show at Chelsea\u2019s Pace Gallery featured Jacquard loomed tapestries so large that the gallery referred to them as \u2018architectural;\u2019 the artist\u2019s current solo show at the Hill Art Foundation<\/a> takes the concept a step further in its handsome integration of artwork and the gallery space.\u00a0 \u00a0Here, a new work from Tajima\u2019s \u2018Negative Entropy\u2019 series \u2013 referring to an application of energy to move away from disorder \u2013 dominates a floating wall, enhancing the dynamic effect of the wave pattern depicted in purple and yellow.\u00a0 Past pieces from the series indirectly picture sound waves from computer activity or brain stimulation; here, the subtitle \u2018Sound Bath\u2026\u2019 suggests a visualization of a healing activity, purposeful if abstracted.\u00a0 (On view through July 26th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n
